AmeriQuest Transportation Services Scholarship - $1,000
Submission deadline May 16, 2016.  Students who are studying or are planning to study a technology or business derived major, or a related field or trade, are invited to take part in our $1,000 scholarship essay competition.  Whether you know it or not, the transportation industry is suffering from a serious shortage of drivers. This problem has forced the industry to begin reevaluating its practices, hoping to attract a new pool of young, qualified drivers. The topic for this year’s scholarship essay competition is, “What can the transportation industry do to attract a new generation of drivers?”  For your essay, take this concept and present your ideas as to how the industry can best market these jobs to young adults and millennials.  Click here for complete scholarship details. 
 
Ron Brown Scholar Program
Applications accepted yearly  August - January.  Early applicant deadline:  November 1.  Final postmarked deadline:  January 9.  The RBSP is a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African-Americans.  Four-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,00/year) are awarded to the most talented and economically-challenged high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship.  Scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline.   Click here for scholarship descriptions and details.
 
Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarships
Must be a current high school senior.  Scholarship program opens in the Fall and application deadline is mid-January.  Click here for details and to apply online.
 
Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship - Between $1,000 - $10,000
For qualified minorities enrolled in a technical degree program at the bachelor level or above. Application process begins March 1, 2016.  Completed applications must be postmarked BEFORE September 30, 2016. Recipients of the scholarship will be notified by the end of December  Click here for details and application.
 
The Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship Program - $5,000 - $10,000
Application deadline February 20, 2017.  One $10,000 and two $5,000 scholarships awarded.  Applicants must be graduating high school in spring 2017.  Click here for complete details and application.
